Courage, it began before we could even pronounce the word.
Yes, from taking our first baby steps, to entering our first educational and sports arena, we have been building our “courage muscles.”

Then, one day, some strange inner voice challenges us and whispers “what are you thinking, you know you are too young, too old, too lazy, too poor, too short, too heavy, too backwards, or too stupid.”
Do you think it took courage for all those who have lost any part(s) or any use of their bodies to have the “courage” to take what still works and make the most of it?
Do you think the soldiers fighting for the greatest country in the world have had the “courage” to go into battle for what he/she believes in?
Do you realize the many terminally ill we have known or know of have gotten up each day and found the “courage” to keep on until keeping on was no longer an option?
Certainly, a point has been made…

We build our “Courage Muscles” exactly like we build other muscles in our body.
First, DO NOT think about “shoulda, woulda, coulda’s.”
Second, whatever you have been thinking about doing for YOUSELF, take the first step.
Third, understand those negative whispers will return.
Fourth, have “courage” for today, you will find courage for tomorrow, tomorrow.
Fifth, we will resist change, try to talk ourselves out of our first courage day, or perhaps say to our selves, “what was I thinking.”
Sixth, it is not easy to step out of our comfort zone and meet our new challenge(s) with strength and determination, especially when we have heard all those voices trying to tell us otherwise.
Seventh, if it were easy, we would not be having this conversation.
Eighth, now is the time for you to “love yourself” enough to believe you can, you will and you are.
Ninth, these are your courage muscles, you own them, and you deserve them.
Tenth, I challenge each of you to look in the mirror each morning and say

“I love you, you are great, and you better believe it.”

Blessings
